Chesakit Yudaya is a Ugandan lawyer and human rights activist whose work is grounded in a deep commitment to justice, equality, human dignity, and the protection of vulnerable communities. She is passionate about building a society where every individual, particularly survivors of gender-based violence and marginalized populations, can access justice, exercise their rights, and live free from violence, discrimination, and environmental harm.
Her work in prevention and response to gender-based violence, survivor-centered support, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), legal aid, access to justice, environmental protection, and climate justice has made her realize that human rights are interconnected and that social inequality, environmental degradation, and climate change can deepen existing vulnerabilities, particularly among women, girls, children, and communities whose livelihoods depend on natural resources.
