To truly dismantle the root causes of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), we must actively involve adolescent boys and young men as partners in change, rather than viewing them solely through a lens of suspicion or problem-making.

The Boy Champions Curriculum

Active in 20 partner schools, the Boy Champions initiative pairs young men aged 13–19 with trained community mentors. Through structured after-school dialogue sessions, boys critically examine harmful notions of toxic masculinity, learn the true meaning of affirmative consent, and discover how to speak out when peers demean girls.

Boy Champions have become proactive ambassadors—walking alongside girls for safety, advocating for menstrual hygiene resources in their schools, and leading peer anti-violence campaigns.
